ArmInfo.Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan called on the former leaders of Artsakh <to speak as little as possible and not to interfere in the political processes in the Republic of Armenia>. He stated this on January 21 in a conversation with journalists in the parliament.
Thus, touching upon the <Baku trial> of the former leaders of Artsakh in Baku, the head of the NA of the Republic of Armenia stated that the authorities of the Republic of Armenia are monitoring what is happening, <but there is nothing to react to>. At the same time, according to Simonyan, it is obvious what is happening.
As for the remark that the representatives of Artsakh claim that the Armenian side has not made sufficient efforts in this matter, Simonyan stated that he is not inclined to follow the statements of the former figures of Nagorno-Karabakh.
<They are persons who have status in the Republic of Armenia - some have refugee status, some are citizens of the Republic of Armenia. There is only one power in Armenia, and yes, we must make decisions, and they must obey these decisions, and not form an independent agenda. We will not allow this. Let them know who is doing what. This will not happen, we will not allow it, "he said. In response to the remark that due to the recognition of Artsakh as Azerbaijani territory by the RA authorities, these people were left "without a homeland", the speaker said that no government of Armenia has recognized the independence of Artsakh. "The RA does not have and has not had territorial claims against its neighbors. And yes, I think the use of the term Karabakh is correct," said Alen Simonyan.
