ArmInfo. Deputy Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iran, Vahan Kostanyan and Majid Takht-Ravanchi, at a meeting in Tehran mutually acknowledged the high level of cooperation between their two countries in all areas of interaction.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the meeting highlighted the current political dialogue between the two countries, the importance of joint efforts to continuously develop relations in an atmosphere of respect and mutual trust, as well as mutual respect for each other's foreign policy priorities.
Kostanyan confirmed that Armenia highly appreciates Iran's principled stance on the necessity for unconditional respect for the territorial integrity and inviolability of the borders of the Republic of Armenia. The interlocutors exchanged views on the prospects for deepening economic cooperation, with a focus on the programs in the infrastructure and energy sectors between the two countries.
Kostanyan also briefed his interlocutor on the latest developments in the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, highlighting Armenia's commitment to a peaceful agenda and its expectation of similar approach from Azerbaijan. In this context, the importance of efforts aimed at increasing Armenia's resilience was noted.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on recent global and regional developments. Kostanyan was also received by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi. They discussed current political issues within the sphere of interests of the two countries.
