ArmInfo. World-famous cellist Alban Gerhardt will perform at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Yerevan on January 30.
As reported by the press service of the Yerevan Municipality, the concert program will include Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme and Saint-Saens' Cello Concerto No. 2. The Yerevan Youth Symphony Orchestra will also perform on stage under the direction of artistic director and principal conductor Eduard Topchyan.
Alban Gerhardt is a three-time winner of Germany's premier classical music award, ECHO Klassik, and a winner of the prestigious International Classical Music Award and MIDEM Classic. His recordings have won the BBC Music Magazine award and were shortlisted for the most prestigious classical music award, the Gramophone Award. Gerhardt has performed with leading orchestras around the world, such as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the London Philharmonic, the Swiss Tonhalle Orchestra, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Orchestre National de France, as well as the Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago Symphony Orchestras, under conductors such as Kurt Masur, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Christoph Eschenbach, Vladimir Jurowski and others.
