ArmInfo. On January 16, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with the ambassadors of the EU member states accredited in the Republic.
As reported by the press service of the President of the Republic, during the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the development of Armenia-EU relations and the expansion of cooperation. The achievements of the past year were also presented, and the prospects for the implementation of future programs were discussed.
Yesterday, a meeting of the EU ambassadors with Deputy Minister of Justice Anna Karapetyan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Artur Martirosyan and Head of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Samvel Mkrtchyan took place at the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
As reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, during the meeting a number of issues of the comprehensive and ambitious agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership were discussed in detail, including the achievements achieved during the previous year, the course of the political dialogue. The parties also discussed the draft of the new Armenia-EU partnership agenda, the implementation of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the launch of the Armenia-EU Visa Liberalization Dialogue, the provision of assistance to Armenia through the European Peace Fund, the activities of the EU mission in Armenia, the expansion of cooperation in the security sphere and other issues.
Mkrtchyan, touching upon the draft law "On the start of the process of Armenia's accession to the EU", noted that the positive conclusion of the RA government is in line with the pace of deepening cooperation between Armenia and the EU and its member states, as well as the European aspirations of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
The parties exchanged views on regional security issues and answered a number of questions from the ambassadors of the EU member states.
