ArmInfo. I call on citizens who have the opportunity, independently or with the help of others, to undergo identification in order to purchase discounted packages for online in order to avoid queues and prevent overloading of service offices. Yerevan Mayor's Press Secretary Hayk Kostanyan made this statement on his Facebook page in connection with the start of the process of identifying citizens who have the right to use the new tariffs at a discount and attaching a discounted package to a bank card.
"In order to buy a discounted ticket, you need to approach the administrative district building with an identity card and a civil service number. In the coming days, we will also announce ways to purchase new ticket packages for people who do not have privileges," Kostanyan noted, adding that a similar procedure can be completed on the website transport.yerevan.am.
Earlier the press secretary of the city hall reported that the application of the new ticket system is postponed for one month - from February 1 instead of January 1, 2025. At the same time, according to the new project, until February 1, 2025, along with the new packages, the price of one trip in the amount of 100 drams will be maintained, exclusively by electronic payment, using Tellcell Wallet, payment terminals with paper QR tickets, as well as bank cards.
Kostanyan added that until February 1, 2025, when using trolleybuses, the ticket price of 50 drams will continue to apply. At the same time, Kostanyan emphasized that from January 1, the acceptance of coins will be completely excluded, that is, the option of paying with a coin of 100 drams will end and a transition to full electronic payment will be carried out. This decision is due to the process of organizing the transition period to a single ticket system.
According to the presented project of the city hall, children under 7 years old, orphans and half-orphans of school age (from 8 to 18 years old), orphans and half-orphans students, regardless of their place of registration, but receiving education in Yerevan, persons with disabilities of the 1st and 2nd categories, persons kept in orphanages, nursing homes, parents of large families (4 or more children), heroes of the USSR, Heroes of Socialist Labor, national heroes of Armenia, holding the Order of the Combat Cross of the 1st and 2nd degree will be able to use public transport free of charge with the launch of a single ticket system. A 20% discount will be given to schoolchildren aged 8 to 18, beneficiaries of the Paros Foundation, a 15% discount - to students, a 30% discount - to pensioners who have turned 63 years old.
