ArmInfo. Starting from February 1, public transport fares in Yerevan will increase with the implementation of a unified ticket system. In connection with the expected changes, Hayk Kostanyan, the press secretary of the city's municipality, has posted a reminder on his page. He mentioned that on the transport.yerevan.am website, individuals can explore and select the most cost- effective ticket options for themselves and their family members. Additionally, they can verify the eligibility for benefits by entering their public service number and date of birth. It is also possible to purchase a new ticket package today by linking it to a transport or bank card, that supports contactless payments.
The press secretary highlighted that payments made using Apple Pay or Google Pay will not activate the ticket package, as it is only accessible through a physical card. In order to purchase a discounted package, individuals must register on the transport.yerevan.am website and complete online identification. Kostanyan noted.
Considering that there are citizens who have difficulty using a telephone or computer and are beneficiaries of privileged groups, Telcell service points will be work daily from 10:00 to 21:00 starting on January 8. At these points, citizens will be able to purchase transport cards, undergo identification to confirm their privileged group status, and link a ticket package to a bank or transport card. They must bring an identity document and a public services number when visiting Telcell points. When purchasing a transport card, an additional guarantee amount of 500 drams is required. This money can be refunded upon returning the card. It is important to note that a new transport card becomes activated within 3 hours of being attached to the transport system. Additionally, beneficiaries will soon be able to access services at district administrations within the city.
In the upcoming days, the mayor's office will provide information on how to purchase new ticket packages for individuals without privileges. For further details, please visit: transport.yerevan.am .
