ArmInfo. It is obvious that in the upcoming pre-election period, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will try to clear himself, as before, blaming anyone but himself for his failures. Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party Armen Ashotyan told journalists on December 24, commenting on the Prime Minister's invitation to former presidents of the Republic of Armenia for debates on the Artsakh issue.
According to Ashotyan, Pashinyan's guilt can be viewed from a medium-term perspective, when Artsakh was surrendered, and from a long-term perspective, when he is trying to clear his name in the history of the Armenian people. "But these attempts are unlikely to achieve their goal. Such a javel has not yet been created that could wash all this away," the politician said.
He added that he himself invited Nikol Pashinyan to debates several times, and unlike the presidents, he is not disgusted by it. The RPA vice-chairman believes that the former presidents of the Republic of Armenia did the right thing by rejecting Pashinyan's invitation to debates, since "Nikol wants to open the Overton window." "This is not a topic to pay tribute to primitive skill. The presidents do not participate in order not to legitimize this issue at their level," Ashotyan said after the court hearing.
Earlier, Pashinyan invited all three former presidents to debates on Artsakh, trying to prove to them that since 1994, the negotiation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan was only on the issue of how to leave Artsakh within Azerbaijan. All three presidents refused to debate.
