ArmInfo. The website of the unified ticket system Transport.yerevan.am has been launched. This was announced on December 23 by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan at a working meeting in the capital's municipality.
"Many people think that in this case we are talking about tariffs, but our goal is much more important and is aimed at digitalizing the ticket system. Our team is confident that today it is impossible to move forward in providing services to citizens without its digitalization. You can familiarize yourself with the new ticket packages, use the calculator to calculate which ticket will be the most affordable for you, check whether you are in the preferential group by entering your social card number," Tigran Avinyan said.
He added that the website is the first service of the unified platform of services of the Yerevan City Hall. "Yerevan residents will have access to all services through a single electronic window, and there will be no need to visit different sites or have different accounts. Residents will have their own personal account on the new site," the mayor emphasized. He called on Yerevan residents to report cases of malfunctions and propose solutions aimed at improving the platform.
In turn, Vice Mayor of Yerevan Suren Grigoryan noted that soon, through the website, city residents will have the opportunity not only to get acquainted with ticket rates, but also to purchase them using bank card media.
The use of personal media will help to avoid queues and not generate the purchase of new bank cards. The innovation will allow to attract both beneficiaries and citizens who are not involved in the preferential system to the system. If the system does not respond to requests from beneficiaries (pensioners and disabled people), it is necessary to report this to the system in order to quickly respond to the problem.
Let us recall that earlier, the press secretary of the mayor's office Hayk Kostanyan reported that the application of the new ticket system is postponed for 1 month - from February 1 instead of January 1, 2025. "We inform you that at the next meeting of the Yerevan Council of Elders on December 24, a new project will be proposed, according to which until February 1, 2025, along with the new packages, the price of one trip will be maintained at 100 drams, exclusively by electronic payment, using Tellcell Wallet, using payment terminals with paper QR tickets, as well as bank cards. Until February 1, 2025, when using trolleybuses, the ticket price of 50 drams will continue to apply.
When using the metro until February 1, 2025, the ticket price of 100 drams will remain in effect. It should be noted that from January 1, the acceptance of coins will be completely excluded, that is, the option of paying with a 100 dram coin ends and a transition to full electronic payment is carried out. This decision is due to the process of organizing the transition period to a single ticket system, which will be as easy as possible for citizens. Many of you are asking when and how we will be able to use this system? From January, it will be possible to purchase transport cards that will allow you to replenish your preferred ticket packages. A new website will be launched that will allow you to quickly and easily purchase ticket packages online with the option you choose. The site will also provide an opportunity to purchase packages intended for preferential groups, as well as to get acquainted with the groups of people entitled to free travel. We will also add that the public will soon be informed about all this with informative and social videos," the press secretary said.
