This was reported by the mayor's press secretary Hayk Kostanyan regarding the shift of the capital to a unified ticket system for public transportation starting from January 1. As the mayor's press secretary clarified, payments can be made through the Tellcell Wallet application, as well as using paper QR tickets purchased from payment terminals and bank cards. Kostanyan also noted that until February 1, 2025, the fare for trolleybuses will remain at 50 drams, and the metro ticket price will be 100 drams.
"Starting from January 1, coin operated devices will be sealed, eliminating the option to use a 100-dram coin for payment and transitioning to electronic payment only. This decision was made to streamline the transition to a unified ticket system for citizens," Kostanyan explained. At the same time, the mayor's press secretary reminded about the necessity of purchasing transport cards starting in January. He mentioned that a new website for online ticket purchases will be launched. "The website will also offer packages for eligible groups and details on who qualifies for free travel," Kostanyan summarized, adding that the public can expect more information informational and social videos soon.
