ArmInfo. Zaven Manukyan, the head of the Akhuryan community of Shirak region, has refused to use an official car after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's threat to defund communities that did not follow his call to reduce their vehicle fleet. According to the state news agency , on December 20, the head of the Akhuryan community announced his decision to refuse using a service car, setting an example for others to follow.
On November 22, in his interview, Pashinyan brought up the issue of decreasing the number of service cars. He explained that he had to take a strong stance on this matter, as the state structures did not respond adequately to his calls, both public and non-public. According to Pashinyan, despite potential organizational challenges, it is necessary to optimize government spending. The day before, at a cabinet meeting, the prime minister emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to reduce the number of official cars for Armenian officials. "Those who do not comply with my directive must realize that there will be corresponding consequences such as limited funding for subsidy programs," he said.
