Resolution condemning Nagorno-Karabakh ethnic cleansing submitted to  US Senate

ArmInfo.US Senators Gary Peters and Bill Cassidy have introduced a bipartisan resolution condemning Azerbaijan's ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh, as reported in a statement by Hay-Dat ARF.  The resolution calls on the US administration to impose targeted sanctions against the regime of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The senators also demand the  immediate release of Armenian prisoners held in Baku and call for a  ban on US military aid to Azerbaijan. The resolution affirms the  right of the citizens of Artsakh to safely return to their homeland.  The resolution condemns the atrocities perpetrated by the Azerbaijani  government against the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and  recognizes both the blockade and subsequent attack Azerbaijani  offensive as ethnic cleansing
