ArmInfo.The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan reported on sending the so-called criminal cases against Artsakh officials to court, as informed by Azerbaijani media with reference to the country's Prosecutor General's Office.
As it turned out, Azerbaijani prosecutors had fabricated no less than 1,389 criminal cases, which were later consolidated into a single proceeding. It is noted that the crimes were collected as early as 1987. "Based on the collected reliable evidence, new charges have been brought against 15 people of the criminal organization in connection with 2,548 episodes: Arkady Arshavirovich Ghukasyan, Arayik Vladimirovich Harutyunyan, Bako Saakovich Sahakyan, David Rubenovich Ishkhanyan, David Kimovich Babayan, Leva Genrikhovich Mnatsakanyan, David Azatovich Manukyan, Gagik Grigorich Martirosyan, Melikset Vladimirovich Pashayan, David Nelsonovich Allahverdiyan, Gurgen Homerosovich Stepanyan, Levon Romikovich Balayan, Madat Arakelovich Babayan, Vasily Ivanovich Beglaryan and Erik Robertovchi Ghazaryan," the Prosecutor General's Office reported, thus making public the names of 8 more abducted citizens of Artsakh. It is noted that they have been charged under the following articles: 100 (planning, preparing, initiating, or waging an aggressive war); 102 (attacks on internationally protected persons or organizations; 103 (genocide); 105 (extermination of population); 106 (slavery); 107 (deportation or forced displacement); 109 (persecution); 110 (enforced disappearance of population through violation); 112 (unlawful deprivation of liberty in violation of international norms); 113 (torture); 114 (mercenarism); 115 (violations of the laws or customs of war); 116 (violations of international humanitarian law norms during armed conflicts); 118 (war looting); 120 (premediated killing); 192 (illegal entrepreneurship); 214 (terrorism); 214-1 (financing of terrorism); 218 (illegal border crossing); 228 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation of firearms); 270-1 (acts threatening aviation security); 277 (attempt on the lefe of a state or public figure); 278 (forceful seizure of power); 279 (creation of illegal armed groups) and other articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
"The criminal case regarding other individuals accused of committing numerous crimes has been separated into a distinct proceeding, and the preliminary investigation is ongoing. The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has invited the relevant authorities of Armenia to cooperate based on substantial grounds that many individuals suspected or identified as witnesses in these episodes are located in the territory of Armenia. The Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan approved the indictment on December 16, 2024, and sent it for consideration to the Baku Military Court," the statement said. It is noteworthy that the statement does not mention the name of philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan, whose case is currently pending in the State Security Service of Azerbaijan. Yesterday, Vardanyan's legal team reported that he is facing 45 charges of serious crimes. The materials of his case consist of 100 volumes.
