ArmInfo. On December 13, 2024, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction granted the prosecutor's motion and sentenced Police Colonel Daniel Danielyan to life imprisonment, who was charged with robbing the HSBC Bank in Armenia and committing murder.
On May 3, 2018, it was reported that at around 2:25 p.m., the police received a call about an armed robbery at the HSBC Bank branch at the intersection of Komitas Avenue and Gulbenkyan Street. According to the police, the attacker, armed with a knife, a grenade and a rifle, broke into the bank, injuring two employees, one of whom died. After seizing the cash, the criminal ran away, but was captured shortly after. On March 5, 2024, the prosecutor filed a petition to declare Daniel Danielyan (the head of the center for registering violations using technical means of the Road Police) guilty of robbery with the intent of stealing especially large property, murder, attempted murder, and the unlawful killingof two persons on duty. Additionally he was accused of the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices. The prosecutor requested that the defendant be sentenced to life imprisonment.
