ArmInfo. Yesterday, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan received the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Armenia Alfonso Di Rizzo, who is completing his mission in the country.
As reported by the press service of the RA MESCS, Deputy Minister Artur Martirosyan also took part in the meeting. During the meeting, Zhanna Andreasyan thanked the Ambassador for his effective work aimed at developing cooperation between Armenia and Italy. The Minister emphasized the importance of the implemented joint initiatives in the field of archeology, restoration of historical and cultural monuments, museums, music, cinema, expressing confidence in the existence of great potential for cooperation in the field of education, including in the general education system. The activities of the Armenian studies centers operating in Italy were touched upon.
Alfonso Di Rizzo, in turn, noted that it was a great honor for him to carry out a diplomatic mission. He also emphasized that he had spent many years of hard work in Armenia, during which many initiatives were implemented in the interests of Armenia and the deepening of relations between Armenia and Italy.
Touching upon the already implemented programs in the field of culture, it was noted that the National Art Gallery of Armenia opened an exhibition "Fragments of Italian Art in Armenia", where masterpieces of such masters as Donatello, Tintoretto, Guercino, Canaletto and Canova were presented. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Italian Republic, a traveling exhibition of "Perugino" panels was also presented. The National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata" was staged at Spendiaryan's, Armenian films were screened at Italian film festivals, and a number of Armenian ensembles, choirs and dance groups, as well as individual performers, regularly performed in various cities of Italy.
