Ocampo informs Garegin II on the information campaign about ethnic cleansing in Artsakh during COP29

ArmInfo. Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II held a meeting with the former Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno Ocampo.  As reported by the press office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, at the meeting Luis Moreno Ocampo informed Garegin II about an information campaign on ethnic cleansing in Artsakh. The campaign was carried out in conjunction with the global climate summit COP29 in Azerbaijan. Additionally, Ocampo discussed efforts to secure the release of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan and shared the progress that has been made in this regard. The human rights activist highly appreciated the Global Prayer Service for the prisoners detained in Baku, held on November 10 at the call of Garegin II. His Eminence highly appreciated Ocampo's efforts to protect the rights of Artsakh Armenians and raise awareness of Azerbaijan's genocidal actions, using his experience and authority in the field of international law.

The Catholicos of All Armenians stated that the Armenian Church is also making efforts on international, inter-church, and inter-religious platforms to resolve the issues of Azerbaijan's occupation of Armenia's sovereign territories. The Church is also working to protect the rights of Artsakh Armenians who have been deprived of their homeland, as well as captive and missing Armenians, efforts are being made to preserve the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.  The interlocutors also discussed the alarming developments in the region and the Middle East.
