US delegation to help Armenian parliament engage public in  legislative processes

On December 9, Arusyak Julhakyan, Arsen Torosyan, Mary Galstyan and Maria Karapetyan, members of the National Assembly of Armenia from the  ruling Civil Contract faction, held a meeting with the Congressional  delegation led by David Price, the Chairman of the US House Democracy   Partnership Commission, who had arrived in Yerevan for a three- day  visit.

As reported by the press service of the RA National Assembly, during  the meeting Arusyak Julhakyan spoke about the effective  Armenian-American cooperation and highlighted the significance of US  support in the democratic reform process in Armenia.  The  interlocutors addressed matters related to close bilateral  collaboration and emphasized the importance of sharing expertise in a  number of areas.  During the visit to Armenia, the guests will meet  with National Assembly members, faction representatives and   parliamentary staff. They  will provide technical support and  consultations to the NA staff on how to increase public involvement  in legislative and budgetary processes.
