ArmInfo. On December 6, RA Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan received Claudia Busch, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia. This was reported by the RA Ministry of Justice.
At the meeting, as the source notes, the cooperation between Armenia and Germany in the field of mutual legal assistance was highly appreciated.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed, in particular, reforms in the judicial system, the fight against corruption, and the protection of human rights. The Minister and the Ambassador also considered issues of mutual interest in the implementation of reforms.
The areas related to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice were mentioned, including the issue of the mediator and arbitration, localization of the best practices of the Federal Republic of Germany in the field of personal data protection.
The Minister presented details related to the norms of the electoral legislation. At the request of the Ambassador, the concept of the new constitution was touched upon, the importance of observing the social rights of the individual was emphasized. Galyan noted that the implementation of reforms by Armenia will bring the Armenian state even closer to European values and standards. The meeting also touched upon sectoral reforms implemented within the framework of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union, as well as the process of visa liberalization with the EU.
