ArmInfo. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Boumediene Guennad presented his credentials to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan. As reported by the press service of the head of state, the President congratulated the ambassador on assuming office and president expressed hope that during his tenure, relations between the two countries would reach a higher level based on common interests. Khachaturyan noted that fostering relations with the Arab world is among the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the newly appointed ambassador noted that he would make every effort to initiate and strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields. During the meeting, topics of common interest in the political, economic, cultural and other areas were addressed.
In this context, the importance of political dialogue and mutual visits between Armenia and Algeria at different levels was emphasized as a favorable basis for advancing cooperation in the economic, cultural, educational, business and other fields. The discussion also underscored the importance of enhanced cooperation between the two countries on global platforms.
