ArmInfo. The recent developments between the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Republic of Armenia is primarily a decision made by the military-political leadership of Armenia. This statement was made by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov, during a press conference on November 4, discussing the organization's activities in 2024. At the same time, he emphasized that Armenia's absence in discussions related to the organization does not affect the effectiveness of its work. "We proceed from the fact that the Republic of Armenia is our ally, and we maintain all our obligations to it. Armenia can resume full participation in the organization at any time.
There are no obstacles from the CSTO members, so we hope that it will soon rejoin our work," the CSTO Secretary General said. Speaking about Russia's military-technical cooperation with CSTO states, Tasmagambetov highlighted that it is ongoing and the Russian military-technical complex works effectively in this regard. Touching upon the supply of weapons and military equipment to CSTO countries, he noted that it is a bilateral cooperation matter. Therefore, according to him, the only issue discussed at the CSTO meetings is the equipping of the organization's collective forces with advanced and promising weapons. "I think that all CSTO countries work directly with Rosoboronexport. One of the main issues is that CSTO countries can purchase weapons at domestic prices and this process is currently going on efficiently," he clarified.
