Former ombudsman of Armenia criticizes Yerevan Municipality for illegal treatment of striking bus drivers

ArmInfo. We strongly condemn  the outrageous actions of the Yerevan Municipality towards bus  drivers who are on strike for their labor rights, including higher  wages.  As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the Tatoyan  Foundation, in this regard, Arman Tatoyan, the head of the  foundation, mentioned that the Armenian authorities not only use  intimidation and blackmail, but also unlawfully terminate the  employment of workers, accusing them of committing crimes.  "The  government, which claims to be a "bastion of democracy", is not only  threatening bus drivers who are exercising their constitutional right  to strike, but also officially requesting criminal prosecution," the  head of the foundation clarified.
