ArmInfo. In Armenia, a person holding a state position and a civil service position will be paid additional one-time vacation pay. The RA National Assembly Committee on State and Legal Affairs at an extraordinary session on December 2 approved amendments to the law "On remuneration of persons holding state positions and civil service positions", submitted by the RA government in the second and final reading.
Presenting the amendments, the Head of the Civil Service Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vache Kalashyan noted that according to the draft law, it is recommended to pay one-time vacation pay to employees of state and civil service positions at the end of the year in any case, even if the employee does not use the vacation in a given year or transfers it to the next year. The draft law establishes guarantees for civil servants to maintain the coefficient level due to normal growth over the years of work in the civil service, as well as when a civil servant takes up a state position after being dismissed from the position and during the period of appointment to a state position, and if the term of service after being dismissed from this position does not exceed one month.
The government also proposes to limit the salaries of employees and technical workers of the presidential, government, National Assembly and Constitutional Court offices not from bonus funds, but by a rate cap. In particular, according to the proposal, the rate should not exceed the coefficient of 6, and the average value should not exceed 3.5.
The draft law does not have retroactive effect and will be applied from January 1, 2025.
