ArmInfo.A joint meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO was held in Astana under the chairmanship of the Kazakh side.
As reported by the CSTO press service, the event was attended by CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and the Chief of the Joint Staff Colonel General, Andrei Serdyukov. During the meeting, participants shared their views on the military-political situation in regions of collective security, discussed the outcomes of cooperation, and explored opportunities for advancing the collective security framework. The discussion also focused on preparations for the joint celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
Several documents submitted for review to the CSTO Collective Security Council were approved, and decisions were made to enhance allied relations, boost foreign policy coordination, and advance the Collective Forces. Currently, a narrow format meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council (CSC) is underway in Astana. Armenia is not participating in the meeting at any level within the CSTO framework.
