ArmInfo. Today, Nikol Pashinyan's government is leading the country towards the de facto and de jure abolition of the Third Republic of Armenia, and the Turkification of Armenia, as stated by former Vice Speaker of the RA Parliament and Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov at a press conference in Yerevan on November 22nd.
The politician is confident that Nikol Pashinyan has failed, along with the credo of his four-year policy - the so-called peace treaty. "Since 2021, Pashinyan and his team have been feeding the Armenian people, the citizens of Armenia, with promises of concluding a peace treaty, assuring that if we concede this to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the peace treaty will be signed," Sharmazanov noted. He also pointed out that despite all of Pashinyan's unilateral concessions to Aliyev, such as transferring territories to Armenia, dubious demarcation and rejecting the Declaration of Independence, they didn't achieve the desired result, as Azerbaijan rejected all possible options for concluding a peace treaty.
Then, according to the politician, seeing the futility of all his negotiations efforts with Azerbaijan, Pashinyan decided to divert the attention of Armenian society with a spectacle - threatening actions. By dismissing officials, he raised his revolutionary movement to a new stage, mirroring the path of the Jacobins. "Pashinyan and his team suffered a fiasco in the so-called "peace treaty" operation. In an attempt to minimize reputational damage, he chose to use the tactic "the best defense is an attack". He initiated an operation to dismiss 5-6 members of his team, possibly even after reaching an agreement with them," Sharmazanov noted. He added that the whole nation, having forgotten about the more global issues and challenges facing the country, is now focused on discussing trivial matters such as Nikol's shaving habits and the reasons behind the removal and appointment of officials.
In this vein, he pointed out that as long as Pashinyan remains Prime Minister of Armenia, it is irrelevant who holds the positions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Minister of Internal Affairs. It is no secret to anyone that Pashinyan is the one truly in charge. The Republican is confident that these dismissals are part of a pre-election campaign strategy to divert attention from their own failures.
Additionally, he mentioned that both the RPA and he personally have repeatedly stated that Azerbaijan does not need a peace treaty. "Why? It's simple. Starting from November 9, 2020 to this day, Azerbaijan and Turkey, without signing a peace treaty, have gained the following: Nagorno-Karabakh in its entirety, abolished the Artsakh Defense Army, de-Armenianized Artsakh, acquired 21 km of the Goris-Kapan road, 30% of the Black Lake territory, over 200 sq. km of sovereign territories of Armenia, villages in Tavush, succeeded in having Ararat renounced as a national and state symbol, disavowed the Armenian Genocide and officially declared that international recognition of this fact is not a foreign policy priority, convincing the whole world that the Declaration of Independence of Armenia is wrong. With all of these actions, the Pashinyan government is realizing the long-standing dreams of Aliyev and Erdogan," he noted. The politician added that for many years the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem has had one goal: to portray Armenia as a threat to its regional neighbors and as a state that lays claim to the territories of these neighbors, while the poor Azerbaijanis and Turks are forced to defend themselves.
