ArmInfo. It will be possible to pay Armenian citizens pensions and benefits in an amount that they will not be ashamed of when the number of working citizens exceeds the number of non-working citizens by 60, 70, 100 or 200%. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on November 14 from the country's parliament rostrum.
According to him, the number of non-working pensioners and persons receiving benefits in Armenia currently totals 754,431 people. The state provides them with funds from the taxes paid by 768,547 employed workers.
At the same time, as the Prime Minister pointed out, there is a lack of motivation for labor in Armenia. While there are available jobs, people prefer to receive unemployment benefits instead of working. They justify this by saying that the available jobs do not offer good pay or adequate salaries. Meanwhile, this is once again a manifestation of anti-statehood, Pashinyan emphasized. According to him, there are times when you need to take responsibility and make unpopular decisions. <On November 9, 2020, many of my colleagues were in my office when I said "I am not interested in any opinion, I will take this responsibility and sign this paper. I believe I made the correct decision. The question remains: why did I do it>, he said.
