ArmInfo.Official Yerevan has not submitted applications for participation in the COP 29 climate forum in Baku. This was stated by RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during the government hour in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on November 13, in response to comments made by Hikmet Hajiyev, the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, who claimed that Armenia had registered for the forum, but none of its representatives attended.
As Mirzoyan noted, none of the Armenian officials had submitted applications. However, as the head of the Foreign Ministry emphasized, it is possible for representatives of civil society to have done so. "If we are referring to representatives of civil society, then I am not aware of this. Armenia is a democratic country that cannot interfere with the management of civil society organizations in any manner," Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized. It should be noted that earlier, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov called Armenia's non- participation in the COP-29 climate summit in Baku a "missed opportunity."
