ArmInfo.For Armenian authorities state security and fostering a sense of solidarity around the country are their top foreign policy priorities, as stated by RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on November 13 during discussions on the draft state budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2025.
According to him, the country's Foreign Ministry attaches particular importance to establishing and developing relations with its neighbors. One of these areas is the "Crossroads of Peace" project proposed by Armenia, which involves unblocking all transport, transit and economic communications in the region. This includes roads, railways, power lines and communication cables. The primary goal of the project is to unblock communications, specifically, the railway with Azerbaijan. Mirzoyan noted that intensive negotiations are currently taking place in this direction, expressing hope for a compromise to be reached soon.
He also emphasized that there are one or two formulations that need to be resolved in the process of preparing a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku. Negotiations on these issues are ongoing, with a more intensive and constructive atmosphere than in the previous period. When discussing unblocking communications with Azerbaijan, the minister also highlighted the closed borders with Turkey. However, the dialogue with Ankara continues is progressing dynamically. The head of the RA MFA also assured that efforts will be made to enhance and expand cooperation with Georgia and Iran.
