Defense Minister: Hybridity is central to creation of Armenian Armed  Forces

ArmInfo. The concept of hybridity is central to the creation of the Armenian Armed Forces, as  stated by Suren Papikyan during his speech at the parliament on November 13th.

According to him, hybridity involves combining two principles  simultaneously: maintaining the professional nature of the Armed  Forces and implementing conscription for mandatory military service.   Recruits will serve as the primary source for supplementing the  professional army. Papikyan highlighted that a significant number of  young people are now participating in the "Defender of the  Fatherland" program, which aims to train professionals. Moreover, the  level of interest has grown to the extent that people are seeking  intermediary services to join the program.

The minister emphasized the importance of contract soldiers receiving  a good salary today, and work in this direction is already underway.  For instance, contract soldiers who have passed certification  currently receive additional payments ranging from 123,000 to 470,000  drams.  It should be noted that in 2025, the Armenian Defense  Ministry will receive 664.6 bln drams from the state budget for the  implementation of five programs.
