ArmInfo. The Finance Minister's assertions that the interests of the citizens of the "real Armenia" will be at the forefront of the Armenian government's policy cannot but cause surprise. This was stated by Armen Rustamyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition faction "Armenia", from the rostrum of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on November 13.
According to him, the division of citizens into "real" and "historical" Armenia was first introduced by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and against this background, the question of how this process will take place quite reasonably arises. "If a citizen of Armenia and a citizen of the "real Armenia" are one and the same, then why are you introducing this concept? But if it is not the same, then explain it so that people can assess their status and take advantage of the government's decisions and programs," Rustamyan emphasized.
The MP suggested that with the introduction of the term "real Armenia", citizens will encounter problems in their homes where a picture of Mount Ararat will be found on the walls, and there will be a need to quickly change Mount Ararat to Mount Aragats. Rustamyan also noted that in front of the Colosseum in Rome, citizens of "real Armenia" should not take pictures in front of the large map posted there, on which "Armenia" is written in large letters and there is not a single mention of Azerbaijan. Rustamyan called for defining the concept of "real Armenia". "If the government's policy is based on the idea of protecting the interests of "real Armenia", then explain to citizens what interests are at stake and what benefits they will be able to enjoy," the oppositionist said.
