ArmInfo.Armenia liberalizes visa regime for Mongolian citizens. Proposals to sign a protocol on amendments to the relevant agreement signed on September 28, 2018 between the governments of the two countries were approved on November 7 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Armenia.
As stated in the explanatory note to the document, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Mongolia (February 21, 1992), bilateral relations have developed very slowly. At the same time, there is a certain potential for the development of relations.
In recent years, efforts have been intensified to expand the bilateral legal framework. Currently, an agreement is at the signing stage.
On September 28, 2018, the Agreement on the abolition of the visa regime for persons with diplomatic and service passports was signed between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Mongolia (came into force on June 2, 2019). The Mongolian side proposed to amend the above-mentioned agreement, exempting persons with ordinary passports from the visa regime.
-, the document says. The purpose of the Protocol is to exempt citizens of each participating State, holding ordinary valid passports, from the need to obtain permits to enter, exit, transit and reside in each other's territory for a period not exceeding 30 days from the date of entry.
