ArmInfo. The release of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan will greatly help to reconcile Yerevan and Baku. Gurgen Arsenyan, the newly appointed Ambassador of Armenia to Russia, told journalists at the ceremony of presenting his credentials.
"Such a step will greatly help with reconciliation," he noted and added that any remaining questions on the release of the detainees should be directed to the Azerbaijani side. Arsenyan also added that if Yerevan and Baku are moving towards a peace treaty and intend to declare "to the whole world that two states, two nations will coexist in peace and cooperation," then they should begin with steps that "are deserving of recognition." As TASS reports, he also refused to comment on a separate issue regarding businessman Ruben Vardanyan, who is currently in Azerbaijani captivity, noting that Yerevan doesn't differentiate between its citizens.
