ArmInfo. The US and the EU's desire to exclude Russia from the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization process will only heighten security threats in the region. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to RIA Novosti.
"We believe it is important to consolidate the peace process within the regional framework, in the circle of friends - the countries of the South Caucasus and neighboring partner states, excluding destructive interference from external sources. The desire of Washington and Brussels to exclude Russia from the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization process only heightens security threats in the region," Lavrov said. He added that Russia is ready, as before, to provide partnership assistance for the successful completion of negotiations between Baku and Yerevan. This assistance will be provided in accordance with the trilateral agreements made by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020-2022, in the form and to the extent requested by both negotiating parties.
