ArmInfo. The Armenian government attaches great importance to solving the problems of national minorities in the republic. This was stated by Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Arayik Harutyunyan during the discussions in the commissions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on the draft state budget for 2025 on October 30.
He recalled the decision of the head of government to make changes in the composition of the Council for National Minorities, which was headed by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister.
The draft state budget provides for allocating 25 million drams to solve the problems of national minorities, which is 5 million drams more than the amount allocated in the current financial year. These amounts, as Harutyunyan assured, will be consistently increased in order to implement already approved and future programs.
In total, 15 public organizations of 11 national communities of the country will receive assistance within the framework of the project, based on applications submitted to the Council. The increase in financial contributions to address issues related to national minorities is associated with the organization of Sunday schools, camps, the publication of monthly magazines, the establishment or development of websites, as well as trips for children of representatives of national communities to cultural and historical sites in Armenia.
