ArmInfo. Nothing has changed in the relations between Armenia and Belarus. This was stated by the secretary of the ruling Civil Contract faction in Armenia at a briefing in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on October 24, commenting on yesterday's meeting in Kazan "on the feet" of the leaders of the two states, Nikol Pashinyan and Alexander Lukashenko.
Videos of this meeting, during which the leaders of the two countries communicated on the sidelines of the BRICS+ summit in Kazan, have appeared online.
"If we do not know what the conversation was about, then there is nothing to comment on here, I can only say that nothing has changed in the relations between Yerevan and Minsk," Hovhannisyan said, recalling that the head of the Belarusian state was on the same platform as the Prime Minister of Armenia.
On June 13, Armenia recalled its ambassador from Belarus for consultations. On the same day, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said from the rostrum of the parliament that he would never visit Belarus again as long as Alexander Lukashenko is president. He justified his words by the fact that one of the leaders of the CSTO member states recently stated that during the 44-day war, his country participated, believed in and wished victory to Azerbaijan.
"And after that, you want me to go to Belarus and discuss issues related to the CSTO with the president of this country?" - asked the Prime Minister of Armenia, noting that Armenia plans to leave the CSTO.
On June 11, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus will participate in the process of "revival of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan" (the occupied territories of Artsakh - ed.). Moreover, on May 17, as part of a state visit to Azerbaijan, Lukashenko also visited the occupied territories of Artsakh, where he not only offered his services for the "restoration of the region," but also reported how he discussed the war for Nagorno-Karabakh with Aliyev even before it began.
