ArmInfo. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country is to blame for losing any war. This was stated by Ruzanna Stepanyan, the Coordinator of the "Pan-Armenian Front" movement, during a march towards the government building of Armenia.
As Stepanyan pointed out, state bodies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the prosecutor's office and the president, are refusing to meet with families. There is also no official information available about search operations. In this regard, relatives of missing persons and prisoners of war, including members of the Pan-Armenian Front, gathered at Freedom Square and marched to the government building to hand over a letter to Nikol Pashinyan, signed by 31 parents and members of the movement. The coordinator of the movement then presented the demands outlined in the letter. In particular, the letter emphasized that every missing person and prisoner of war is a citizen of Armenia, and the government has a constitutional obligation to fulfill its duties towards them.
"The DNA issue must be closed until the prisoners in Baku prisons are returned. We urge the UN Security Council to promptly adopt a resolution, and the Red Cross should act as a mediator. A tripartite commission, including representatives from Armenia, Azerbaijan and international observers, should be established. Additionally, the work of the OSCE Minsk Group should be intensified. At the state level, a permanent working group with appropriate authority must be established within seven days. A designate person should be appointed and clear deadlines should be established. A platform for monitoring the progress of search operations at the request of parents, should also be created. Transparent communication with the media must also be ensured," the letter says. Stepanyan also added that if the authorities participate in the Climate Summit (COP 29) in Baku, they must return the prisoners of war held in Baku prisons. If the demands are not met, the members of the movement, along with their parents, will appeal to the National Tribunal to condemn the authorities inaction.
In this regard, Stepanyan stated that the tribunal was created by the movement. She noted that its decision is clear: Nikol Pashinyan has violated the Constitution and must be held accountable for his actions. Furthermore, Stepanyan pointed out that the decision includes demands for which they are ready to wait for a response within seven days. Failure to act will result in the tribunal reviewing the government's inaction. "The authorities' actions will have moral and legal consequences," Stepanyan noted, adding that all their efforts are aimed at removing Nikol Pashinyan from power as soon as possible.
