ArmInfo. The COP29 climate conference in Baku can be a good opportunity to highlight current challenges, the peace process, and issues concerning peace and stability in the region. This was stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the government hour in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on October 23, responding to a question about whether Yerevan planned to exert pressure on Baku to secure the return of Armenian prisoners.
The Prime Minister stressed that the issue of returning prisoners is a recurring topic in all working discussions, it is raised by countries and organizations. However, it is important to also consider the potential risks involved. "We can make a public statement, which may either simplify the issue of return, or complicate it. Alternatively, we can make an official statement, which would definitely close all prospects for return. We will evaluate what is most appropriate at this moment and do what we believe will be most effective," the prime minister said.
