ArmInfo.At the invitation of the State Philharmonic, on October 25 at 19:00 in the Concert Hall named after Arno Babajanyan in Armenia, a solo concert of the world-famous pianist Alexei Lubimov will be held, dedicated to his 80th birthday.
As reported by the press service of the concert organizers, the program will include works by such composers as Valentin Silvestrov, Frederic Chopin, Henry Purcell, Franz Schubert, Mikhail Glinka and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Since the lifting of political restrictions in the 1980s in Russia, Alexei Lubimov has become one of the leading pianists of the international level, performing concerts in Europe, North America and Japan. He has collaborated with the philharmonics of Helsinki, Israel, Los Angeles, Munich and St Petersburg, as well as with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London and the national orchestras of Russia, Radio France, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsches Symphonie- Orchester Berlin.
Alexei Lubimov has worked with international conductors including Ashkenazy, Jarvi, Kondrashin, Hogwood, Mackerras, Nagano, Norrington, Pletnev, Saraste, Salonen, Janowski and Tortelier. He has also taken part in historic performances with the Orchestra of the Century of Enlightenment, the Vienna Academy and the Belgian ensemble Collegium Vocale Gent. In the field of chamber music, the pianist regularly performs at festivals with renowned soloists and ensembles around the world.
