ArmInfo. The weakness of the Armenian society is the only vital support for this regime, so only the idea of the magical power of the border outpost can support the power of the current government of Armenia. This is how political scientist Stepan Danielyan commented on the words of the Prime Minister of Armenia that the army cannot be a key element of state security.
"The current Prime Minister of Armenia claims that if the army is the first guarantee of our national security, then this means that we do not have a security system. And before that, he said that the border posts installed in the village of Kirants in the Tavush region are a guarantee of our security, meaning that this is a border that is recognized by both Armenia and Azerbaijan," the political scientist noted. At the same time, he called for leaving aside the fact that in the current world order, or rather in the conditions of the collapse of the world order, no border post is a guarantee of security. Stepanyan recalled that these border posts did not save today's Lebanon, they did not save Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and many other countries from "democratic", "communist" and "Zionist" aggression.
"Let's leave aside the fact that Azerbaijan declared Armenia Western Azerbaijan and border posts cannot serve as a guarantee of security," the Armenian expert added. In this vein, the political scientist suggested considering the theses of the current Prime Minister of Armenia from a different angle, namely, why he does not want, for example, to have an army that will be the most important along with other elements of the security system.
"Having a combat-ready army means having: an officer corps acting on the basis of the ideas of officer honor and patriotism; an education system in which patriotism and the system of values necessary for it are instilled; a military-industrial system; free-thinking and worthy citizens; an efficient and organized diaspora, in the formation of which the state plays a major role; a network structure similar to the church, which should support the state," Danielyan is confident.
According to the political scientist, this list can be long, but there is also a key problem here: a decent officer, teacher, citizen, scientist, active member of the diaspora, an effective church will not tolerate the current prime minister and his team.
"The current security system with all its components and this government are incompatible phenomena. Only the current weak, unworthy society, fearing an external threat, will vote for the current regime. Our weakness is the only vital support for this regime, so only the thought of the magical power of the border outpost can support the power of the current government of Armenia," the political scientist concluded.
