ArmInfo. Vahan Kostanyan, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, participated in and delivered remarks at the 75th session of the Executive Committee of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, in his remarks, the Deputy Minister touched upon the issue of over 115,000 refugees (over 150 thousand since the fall of 2020 - ed.) from Nagorno-Karabakh, who were subjected to ethnic cleansing due to the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan in September 2023. Kostanyan emphasized that the Armenian government, in coordination with international partners, has undertaken all possible measures to address the immediate humanitarian needs of refugees. The Deputy Minister underscored the need for additional efforts to address the long-term needs of refugees, emphasizing the importance of continued support of UNHCR and other international partners in this regard.
