16th ReA Fest animation film festival to kick off in Yerevan

ArmInfo. From October 20 to 26, Yerevan will host the 16th Reanimation film and comics festival,  ReA Fest (Reanimania). The event will feature esteemed guests from various countries, such as representatives of Disney, the Eurimages Foundation, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, France  TV and others. This was announced by Vrezh Kassouny, the founder of R¥A Fest, during a press conference on October 15.

He said that this year the festival will have three components. The  first component is the screening of films and the competition  program. In total, this year, fans of animated films in Yerevan will  be able to watch over 250 films, including those presented at  prestigious film festivals (Cannes, San Sebastian, Annecy).  The  second component is the MarAn production site with the CoReAct  co-production platform, where 17 animated projects will be presented.  The jury will consist of 15 international producers from  representatives of the Eurimages Foundation, Cartoon, Annecy, and  France TV. "I hope that their visit will not only be a visit, but  will also open new paths for co-production", said Kassouny.

The third component of the festival is the ReAComics comics   competition, in which 14 projects will be presented. The best  project, chosen by a professional jury, will receive a monetary  reward from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of  Armenia. "On October 23, the projects will be showcased at the Union  of Artists. We are hopeful for new winners and the creation of  another book next year", the founder of ReA Fest said. Last year, the  winning project was a book dedicated to David of Sassoun. This book  will also be featured at the festival at the Union of Artists.

At the same time, Kassouny reported some good news: within the  framework of the Festival, ReAComics is starting to publish a series  of books. This year, 2 books will already be presented, translations  into Armenian from German and French. The latter is dedicated to  Melinee and Missak Manouchian.
