ArmInfo. The first educational exhibition of Russian universities entitled "Education in Russia: Gyumri - 2024" kicked off in Gyumri on October 10. During the two-day event, leading Russian universities will present their educational programs and scientific projects, providing a unique chance to learn about the best educational initiatives.
In his opening remarks, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin highlighted the symbolism of hosting the exhibition in Gyumri, given the city's long-standing relationship with Russia. According to the Russian diplomat, the exhibition provides an excellent chance to receive first-hand information about the opportunities offered by the higher education system of the Russian Federation, covering a range of advanced fields.
"We are witnessing a dynamic development of relations in the field of education. Currently there are approximately 5,000 Armenian students studying in Russia, including those who receive education free of charge. The number of quotas provided by our country is increasing from year to year. In addition, more than 5,000 students are studying at the branches of our universities in Armenia, such as the Russian-Armenian University, the branch of Moscow State University and the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics," Kopyrkin emphasized.
The Russian Ambassador also mentioned that this is not the first exhibition dedicated to Russian universities. A similar event has already taken place in Yerevan.
The educational exhibition was organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Armenia with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, as well as the Gyumri City Hall.
