ArmInfo. Representatives of the "Sacred Struggle" protest movement are demanding a meeting with the head of the department, Anna Vartapetyan, in front of the building of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.
At a rally in front of the building of the supervisory authority, the leader of the movement, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, noted that the protesters presented reports of two crimes committed by the current government. In particular, as the leader of the movement emphasized, the participants of the action demand that a criminal case be opened against the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan for complicity in genocide and ethnic cleansing.
"Today we submitted reports of two crimes to the prosecutor's office, while realizing that any institution in our country serves only the political authorities," he said.
The archbishop noted that the prosecutor general should personally go down to the protesters and give an explanation on these cases.
Meanwhile, in a conversation with journalists, the leader of the opposition faction "I have the honor" in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Hayk Mamijanyan, noted that in the fight against the current government, it is necessary to use all mechanisms, including filing lawsuits. According to the oppositionist, over the past six years, the government has repeatedly proven its treacherous nature, in response to which it is necessary to use legal mechanisms. However, the opposition politician is skeptical about the possibility of considering the reports presented at the present time. Mamijanyan is sure that all these lawsuits will be needed after the change of power in the country.
"Then this evidence will be needed, and representatives of the current government will spend many years behind bars. At this stage, we should not expect any actions from the law enforcement system, they will come some time later," the oppositionist said, adding that a legal process is underway, which is very important from a legal point of view.
