ArmInfo. On October 8, in Berlin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated in the round-table discussion entitled "Climate change impacts on crisis management and mediation" at the Berlin Climate and Security Conference, which was organised under the auspices of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
Touching upon the normalisation process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, the Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated Armenia's readiness to finalise the Peace treaty with the already agreed-upon text in the shortest timeframe.
In this context, Vahan Kostanyan underscored Armenia's commitment to foster confidence-building measures between the two countries. Armenia's decision to withdraw its bid to host COP29 is a vivid testimony of this commitment.
Underscoring the utmost priority of human rights, the Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of civil society's involvement in the climate and security dialogue.
In his remarks, the Deputy Minister touched upon the regional issues, emphasising the importance of a positive agenda in the context of developing bilateral relations with neighbouring countries.
On August 8 in Moscow, on the sidelines of the meeting of the CIS heads of state, when journalists asked when the peace treaty would be signed, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan again stated that Yerevan had proposed signing the already agreed part of the treaty, and this position remains unchanged. And the President of Azerbaijan responded that the document would be signed only when everything was agreed upon. When asked when to expect this, the Azerbaijani President merely shrugged his shoulders.
