RA MFA: Instead of aggressive rhetoric, we should focus on the  earliest possible solution to the issue of signing the peace treaty

ArmInfo.. We believe that, rather than restoring to aggressive rhetoric, we should focus on the earliest possible  solution to the issue of signing the peace treaty and holding negotiations on other matters both de facto and de jure, in a peaceful environment.

This statement was made by Ani Badalyan, the Armenian Foreign Ministry press secretary, in response to a question from the state news agency Armenpress regarding the remarks made by  the President of the Republic of Armenia Ilham Aliyev during his speech in Jabrail. Once again, he has brought up the issue of increasing Armenia's military potential and has issued threats  against it.  Recently, there has been an increase in threatening and  aggressive statements coming from Azerbaijan. 

In a commentary by the representative of the Armenian MFA, it is  noted that official Yerevan has already stated many times and at the  highest level that it has no aggressive intentions towards any   neighbor, recognizes their territorial integrity, and has no  territorial claims. ,  Badalyan noted.

The recent statements by official Baku, raise, at least, a number of  important questions, and I would like to raise two more of them: I  would like to emphasize once again that the Republic of Armenia  reaffirms its commitment to the agreement reached with Azerbaijan on  the basis of the Alma-Ata Declaration, that is, to recognize each  other's territorial integrity and sovereignty along the  administrative borders of the Soviet republics. Let me say that the  Republic of Armenia reaffirms its commitment to the peace agenda and  its readiness to sign the content of the already agreed peace with  Azerbaijan as a peace treaty, about which the Prime Minister of  Armenia stated in his speech at the 79th session of the UN General  Assembly.
