ArmInfo. Contrary to the will and desire of the ruling majority, but by law, an investigative commission on the implementation of the socio-economic rights of the people of Artsakh will function in the Armenian parliament. This was stated by the secretary of the parliamentary faction of the opposition bloc "Armenia" Artsvik Minasyan on October 3 during the traditional briefings of the National Assembly.
"The commission will function under the chairmanship of Artur Khachatryan (MP of the "Hayastan" faction) and with the full support of our faction. So, addressing our compatriots from Artsakh, we urge you to be sure to get involved in the work of the commission. We also urge our colleagues from the government to cooperate," Artsvik Minasyan stated.
On September 9, Artsvik Minasyan came up with an initiative to create a corresponding commission. On September 25, the press service of the parliament reported that in order to study the conditions of organizing the life of the population of the Republic of Artsakh, forcibly resettled to the Republic of Armenia, in accordance with the first part of Article 20 of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia , at the request of at least a quarter of the total number of deputies, an investigative commission of the National Assembly is being created.
Despite this, the parliamentary faction of the ruling Civil Contract party, which has the majority of mandates in the National Assembly, did not support this initiative during the vote on October 2. In particular, the State Duma considered the opposition's arguments unconvincing and insufficient. , Minasyan said the day before.
