ArmInfo. The peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan must adhere to the principles of international law. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the government hour in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on October 2.
He emphasized the importance of maintaining a steady effort towards the peace treaty. "We have adopted a strategy, and we must achieve the implementation of this document. Of course, at the same time, we must listen to what Azerbaijan says, but it does not mean that Yerevan should change its strategy in response to every statement from Baku.
We have no right to change our strategy aimed at advancing the peace agenda, and we must do everything possible to ensure that the peace treaty is signed," the Prime Minister said, adding that in the current situation there is no need to reinvent the wheel. Pashinyan noted that Azerbaijan's constant new demands mean that Baku is not interested in signing a peace treaty with Armenia. "Our strategic goal is to change the general environment in order to make the signing of the document a reality. The ongoing criticism of the actions of the Armenian authorities by the opposition is intended to divert from strategy we have adopted," the RA Prime Minister emphasized.
