ArmInfo. The Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) supports the Crossroads of Peace project of the Armenian Government. This was stated by the First Vice President of Iran Mohammad Reza Aref during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
He has arrived in Yerevan to participate in the Eurasian Economic Forum and the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Confirming the words of the Supreme Leader of Iran Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Vice President emphasized once again that Iran recognizes the territorial integrity of Armenia and considers any border changes in the region unacceptable. At the same time, he pointed out Iran's determination and readiness for multi-sector cooperation with Armenia. As reported by the government press service, the interlocutors discussed bilateral trade and economic relations and their development, cooperation in the fields of energy, infrastructure, road construction, tourism, and some other spheres. Views were exchanged also on issues of mutual interest.
Nikol Pashinyan highly appreciated Iran's principled and public position regarding Armenia's territorial integrity and the inviolability of internationally recognized state borders. He presented the latest developments in the talks with Azerbaijan on the peace treaty, the details of the government's Crossroads of Peace project, aimed at unblocking regional communications. In this regard, Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia is ready to promote the development of trade and economic relations among interested states by unblocking communications based on the principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, equality and reciprocity.
