ArmInfo. On September 28, Yerevan will host the Yerkratsiner ("Earthlings") festival, the first event in Armenia dedicated to animal and environmental protection. According to the press service of the Erkratsiner festival, guests will be treated to fascinating lectures from renowned experts.
Among the speakers will be Zoya Dutova, representing the Yerevan Botanical Garden, who will share her knowledge about the culture of wild herb consumption in the country. Experts will talk about the perception of animals in Armenian Christian and pre-Christian traditions, as well as the legislative status of animals in Armenia. The festival will also feature a panel discussion dedicated to business development in the field of plant-based alternatives. Participants will be able to try unique products from local producers, such as mushroom meat and pea fiber.
"Our festival offers an entertaining format for popularizing environmentally sustainable solutions, stimulating the development of local plant-based cuisine, and attracting investments in eco- and zooethical industries," said Ruzan Melik-Yelchyan, a representative of the organizing committee of the Erktatsiner festival. According to the report, the organizers of the Erkratsiner festival were a group of enthusiasts, volunteers and eco-activists with the support of Dingo Team, the international organization Anima International and the Green Green Eco-center.
