ArmInfo. The main problem of the Armenian people is the ruling political party "Civil Contract", not Turkey and Azerbaijan. Political scientist Stepan Danielyan expressed a similar opinion.
The expert recalled that "Civil Contract" and its international partners warn that Armenians should prepare for several cold winters and, perhaps, even famine.
"But why should we prepare for such disasters and for what?
The answer is obvious. To finally get rid of Russia's influence. We must refuse Russian gas, this is what they hint at.
And for what, for the sake of opening the so-called "Zangezur corridor", which has primarily military significance," the political scientist noted.
At the same time, he believes that the statements from Russia, which hint that the matter will not end with gas alone, are not accidental, since Armenia exports 90% of its grain from the Russian Federation, and not only grain. At the same time, Danielyan did not rule out the use of the German scenario of stopping Russian gas supplies when the gas pipeline is blown up.
"And they will simply present us with a fait accompli. We will return to the cold, darkness and hunger. But if in the 90s we knew why we were experiencing hardships and the majority of the population withstood this test, and hundreds of thousands emigrated, then now it is unclear why we are preparing to repeat all this. Or we know for the sake of the Turkic world. This time, it is unlikely that many people will remain in Armenia," he noted.
Earlier, at the level of American diplomats and legislators, the opinion was voiced that Armenia would have to go through a series of tests on the path to reorientation to the West and a final break in relations with Russia. American officials noted that the Armenian people would probably have to freeze for several years to finally free themselves from Russia's influence.
