

ArmInfo. In the village of Navur in the Tavush region, the Karakarmunj bridge, better known among the people as the Akhumi bridge (19th-20th centuries), will be reconstructed. This was announced during a visit to the village of Nuvar by employees of the Department for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the Service for the Protection of the Historical Environment and Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserves.
The delegation discussed the work on the first stage of drawing up the scientific and design documentation for the monument, and the second stage, the process of its reconstruction.
The next stop was the village of Choratan in the Tavush region, where it is planned to restore and strengthen the St. Hripsime Church with the funds of a benefactor. A memorandum on the relevant work was signed with the MONKS back in 2022. According to the department, the Church of St. Hripsime in Choratan was built in 1683, but archaeological research has also revealed the foundations of the church dating back to the 11th-13th centuries.
