Zakharova: Mother Armenia faction`s delegation visit to Donbass is an  important contribution to peace

ArmInfo. Russia not only welcomes the visit of the delegation from the Mother Armenia faction  of the Council of Elders of Yerevan to Donbass, but also believes that this is a significant contribution to peace and genuine respect for human rights.

This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the  spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, at a briefing on  September 20. "We believe that the meetings of the Armenian  representatives with the leadership and broad public circles of the  new Russian regions allowed them to form their own impression of the  Ukrainian crisis events. This is especially important given the  recent increase in interactions of Armenian politicians and officials  with the Kyiv regime," the Russian diplomat noted.  According to her,  the trip placed special emphasis on education and culture. "The  parties spoke about the importance of protecting traditional values.  We managed to discuss in detail the possibility of Armenian youth  participating in youth projects in the new regions of Russia," she  continued.

At the same time, Zakharova separately highlighted the humanitarian  aspect of the visit, emphasizing the transfer of medicines and other  necessary components by the Armenian side for regional medical  institutions. "This exemplifies the true spirit of Russian-Armenian  relations. There is no manipulation involved. Instead, there is  openness, frankness, honesty and love of people for each other. We  can only welcome such interactions," the representative of the  Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.  Note  that at the beginning of  this week it became known that a delegation from the Mother Armenia  faction of the Yerevan Council of Elders visited Donbass, where they  held a number of meetings.
